Wedding Toast Or Wedding Speech - Which One Should You Choose?

Which one should you choose? That depends on the setting and the amount of experience you have with talking in front of people. The main difference between a wedding toast and a wedding speech is that the toast is only a few paragraphs long and is short and to the point. On the other hand a wedding speech is considerably longer and is usually five to ten minutes or more in length. So you may ask yourself. which one should I give at the wedding reception? That is a great question and here is the answer. There are a few things that you need to consider for you to make this decision. First of all, are you good at talking in front of a big group of people? Secondly, is this a more formal wedding reception that would call for a lengthy wedding toast?

If for example the wedding is just a simple wedding and the reception is just an informal atmosphere then by all means choose a wedding toast. If on the other hand this is a $10,000 wedding and is very formal from the rehearsal dinner to the reception. Then you may want to choose a wedding speech.

Now for either one that you choose you need to think whether or not you feel capable of writing a toast, or a speech. If not then you may opt to have it written for you. That is perfectly normal, lots of folks have one written or get wedding toast books at the book store or online.
